Javiera Alcaíno :)

A very good friend that I've made the past years is Javiera Alcaìno, we first met when we started college in 2014. I remember it was after a class about Investigation methodology, we were on the "Ceniceros Chicos" watching a music group, and we just saw each other and started to talk (I also talked for the first time with my other best friend Carlos Monsalve), I remember we talked about selling different types of sandwiches at school, it was a pretty fun conversation. After that we kept talking and we begun to study together, to do different assignments and we also started to hang out and to share so much more out of classes. As the time passed our relationship has transformed to a very close and nice friendship, with a lot of love and support.

I think one of the factors that have been very important to this frienship is that we have a lot in common, from very superficial stuff as choosing the same lunch, listening very similar music, being from province and having little sisters to our way of thinking and analyze life. Since we are college classmates, we see each other a lot and we have shared many moments, problemas, happy times, concerns, stress, parties, goals, school proyects, music, meals, movies, yoga classes haha, everythings.

I hope our friendship never ends. I hope we can keep building and saving beautiful moments together.

Present

    Usually I really  like significant or symbolic gifts. But now i think i will choose one that maybe doesn't have these characteristics but it was very important for me. The year 2011 was a very difficult personally, too many ups and downs, and a lot of emotional instability, at that time i remember talking a lot with my dad, and he realized that situation and one day without reason  brought a camera, i had bought second hand, was a beautiful surprise, i liked too, is that right during that time, had begun to know the audiovisual world, beauty images, movies, etc.

     Then have this gift in my hands, it was a door to pure beautiful things, an escape reality. Over time I learned more techniques of photography stuff, I used to take photographs regularly on certain days a week, became the perfect excuse to go for a walk to beautiful places, in search of photographs. After that knew the entertaining world of publishing, creating unreal spaces, playing with images, I think it's great.

     Currently still I have my camera, but I lost a little interest to take picture, sometimes the university does not leave time for hobbies and good my camera is old, so sometimes all becomes more difficult, but still i would not change, there have been many moments with her.

Robinson Crusoe Island

Traveling is very nice, i’d like to get to know many new places around the world, many landscapes, nature, people, life. But if I had to pick just one thing, i think the one that I am most interested in, is the Robinson Crusoe Island. I’ve seen pictures and heard about some experiences of some people that have been for several months on the Island and they reccomend it a lot. They said that that the place is beautiful, it is a place to disconnect from the rest of the world and to connect with oneself and nature.

This Island has a very large territory, it offers beautiful landscapes composed by volcanoes, mountain ranges and cliffs, and like if it wasn’t  enough, it is accompanies by beautiful flora and fauna.

In the Island you can visit the Juan Fernandez National Park (which in 1977 was declared a world biosphere reserve) and you can also tour the English port.

In addition to the place, i like the idea of traveling by sea to the island, i imagine days and nights traveling on a boat, i think it would be a great experience.

Favorite Music

I think my favorite music has varied over time, when i was younger i liked the alternative / indie rock, but i do not remember the reason, only i remember she enjoyed listening, the strockes, radiohead, the killers, the smiths o muse. With the time, i remember i started to care a lot about the lyrics, so i prefered the music in spanish and the mor meaning music, i remember that was the time or Latin American music, or most traditional music, i liked Congress, Inti- illimani, The jaivas, Quilpayun, and others. After i met the progressive rock, King crimson, Yes, Genesis  and i was obsesed.

Currently my favorite music is a mix of everything , really everything , i really like the trip hop , which is a delicious mix of soul, funk , jazz and some hip hop, for example Portishead which is one of the bands that i admire , especially  Beth Gibbons , over all. Another band example of this musical style is Massive Attack, great. I also enjoy listening argentinian rock, the classic ones as Spinneta, Charly Garcia, Sui generis, Seru giran, Pedro aznar... I think the have a song for every life moment. Now i think that my favorite music has to do with my days, according to what i feel and what i live.
